He should have stuck with the TelePrompter. The President doesn’t get to decide when people have “made enough money.” In fact, as the radio host notes, that’s a statist point of view. Furthermore, the responsibility of an entrepreneur isn’t to “grow our economy,” core or otherwise. It’s to grow his own economy. In a properly regulated capitalist system, the natural tension of self-interests create economic growth through innovation and efficient use of capital and resources.

Put simply, a free people work for themselves, not for the government. Barack Obama seems to have a problem understanding that.

In fact, more than half the people who spent their savings buying land from the Clintons in Whitewater never received a property deed.
• Filmmaker Michael Moore, a self-styled “working-class boy from Flint, Michigan,” claims never to have owned a single share of stock. But don’t be fooled by his scruffy jeans and baseball cap. Moore, who lives in a lavish lakeside mansion with Eminem and Kid Rock as neighbors, owns a sizable investment portfolio through his foundation—including stock in Halliburton, Pfizer, Merck, Tenet Healthcare, and other companies he vilifies in his films.
• Senator Ted Kennedy, enemy of tax shelters and vocal advocate of the estate tax, maintains an elaborate network of trusts and foundations to ensure that his own wealth will pass on to his heirs largely tax-free. Kennedy is also an avid environmentalist—as long as he doesn’t have to make any personal sacrifices. He strongly opposes the nation’s first offshore wind-energy project because it would interfere with his sailing hobby.
• MIT professor Noam Chomsky is famed for denouncing free markets, private enterprise, and the American government. But he doesn’t come cheap—he charges $12,000 for each speaking engagement. His books berating capitalism have become hot commodities in their own right. And despite his oft-stated opposition to the U.S. military, property rights, and tax havens for the wealthy, he has turned a tidy profit as a Defense Department consultant, owns two million-dollar homes, and has set up an irrevocable trust to protect his sizable fortune for his heirs.

That show won’t be based in Chicago: it will move to Los Angeles where the OWN headquarters is based, according to my sources who also say she wants to divest her real estate in Chicago “as soon as possible”. [5 AM UPDATE: I'm receiving no definitive word on what happens to her Chicago-based company Harpo.] She explained to insiders, “Why would anybody stay in Chicago? It’s freezing here, and I have a mansion in Montecito that I haven’t been able to enjoy.”

Another reason she hasn’t is taxes. My sources say Oprah and her people have long limited the time she spends in Montecito so she doesn’t exceed the number of days mandating her to pay exorbitant taxes as a California resident.

If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions.”

We don’t need to remake America, or discover new and untested principles. The change we need is not the rejection of America’s principles but a great renewal of these permanent truths about man, politics, and liberty—the foundational principles and constitutional wisdom that are the true roots of our country’s greatness.
