‘They Tried to Steal an Election,’ N.Y. Voter Fraud Case Heats Up – Political News – FOXNews.com

Brian Suozzo voted with an absentee ballot in the Working Families Party primary on Sept. 15 because, as his application stated, he was “at home recovering from medical procedure.”

Jessica Boomhower’s application said she would be attending a “work conference in Boston.”

Michael Ward couldn’t vote in person because he was “taking care of elderly parent.”

Kimberlee Truell was on a “Bus trip to casino,” as was Miguel Vazques.

The only problem with these absentee ballot records at the Rensselaer County Board of Elections in Troy, N.Y., is that they’re phony, voters and investigators say — and they’ve prompted what’s being called an unprecedented investigation of suspected voter fraud.

John Fund: Acorn Should Not Get Federal Funds – WSJ.com

Acorn’s allies in Congress have long stopped every move to rein it in. Rep. Steve King R., Iowa, for example, has tried six times to get House floor votes restricting Acorn’s access to federal funds but has been blocked by Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked Rules Committee members. Some Democrats have grumbled. Michigan’s John Conyers, chair of the Judiciary Committee, urged a hearing be held on Acorn abuses in March, but later told the Washington Times “the powers that be decided against it.”

Senate votes to bar funds for ACORN; scandals erode political support – Louisiana Politics | State Legislature News – NOLA.com

The seven senators voting “no” were Democratic Sens. Dick Durbin and Roland Burris of Illinois, Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, Robert Casey of Pennsylvania, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, Patrick Leahy of Vermont and Independent Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

In July, an 88-page staff report by Republicans on the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform described ACORN as “a shell game played in 120 cities, 43 states and the District of Columbia through a complex structure designed to conceal illegal activities, to use taxpayer and tax-exempt dollars for partisan political purposes, and to distract investigators.”

Democrats Hide Socialist Healthcare Foundation in Bill

From the WSJ today…

Tom Daschle is still waiting to be confirmed as secretary of health and human services, not that he’s in any rush. Democrats are already enacting his and Barack Obama’s agenda of government-run health care — entirely on the QT.

[Potomac Watch] Martin Kozlowski

This was the real accomplishment of this week’s House vote for the $819 billion “stimulus,” and is the overriding theme of Congress’s first month. With the nation occupied with the financial crisis, and with that crisis providing cover, Democrats have been passing provision after provision to nationalize health care.
